WALK No 243
Co-ordinator: Duggie Fairbairn (020 8979 8305)

Teddington to Ham House
Thursday 19 July 2012
Car park of The Anglers, Broom Road, Teddington (next to the Studios) at 10.30

The Anglers, Broom Road, Teddington TW11 9NR (next to the Studios)

3.5 miles approx

The walk starts at The Anglers, and takes us over the pedestrian suspension bridge. We will stop briefly on the Teddington Lock 'island' to view the Dunkirk Memorial which was unveiled there in 2010 (thanks for the heads-up, Leo). We continue over the bridge, and then turn left alongside the lock. After about half a mile we turn away from the river, and head through Ham Fields towards Riverside Drive. We follow Riverside Drive all the way to Ham Street, where we take a narrow footpath between two high walls, to emerge at the back of Ham House. A path along the side of Ham House takes us to the river, where we turn left and follow the towpath all the way back to the suspension bridge at Teddington (eventually retracing part of our earlier route). We cross the suspension bridge and head to The Anglers for lunch.
NOTE: It goes without saying that this walk may be quite muddy (is there anywhere that isn't?!), and we may have to modify the route on the day.

NOTE: if you visit the web site of The Anglers before you come, register your email address, and print off and bring the voucher, you will be entitled to 20% OFF THE COST OF YOUR FOOD. CLICK HERE (please be sure you are happy with their terms and conditions)
